∞ FRANKSTON PRIVATE HOSPITAL EXTENSION∞
∞ An amalgamation of Frankston Private Day Surgery and Peninsula Oncology, Frankston Private Hospital was extended to provide a more comprehensive range of oncology and acute health services to the community.
The site, located on Frankston Flinders Road Frankston, was acquired by Healthscope with the purpose of constructing a new Hospital building to connect to the existing Hospital. Healthscope appointed Watpac to undertake the $34.5 million dollar extension while Nuvo Group was selected as the preferred electrical contractor for the Electrical, Technology and Data works required.
Having recently completed the Knox Private and Holmesglen Private Hospital developments for Healthscope, Nuvo brought with them extensive experience in similar working environments which enabled them to comprehensively understand the requirements of the facility and the needs of the end client. Nuvo engaged with the client on an extensive value management procedure which was executed to tightly manage the project program in line with available resources. This flexible approach resulted in project objectives being met on budget.
The project involved a high degree of consultation with builders, architects and consultants to ensure the hospital operations were not disrupted during the replacement of the hospital’s main switchboard (MSB). The complex project involved a tightly managed weekend shutdown to commission the new MSB and re-feed the old MSB. This required expert coordination including a synchronised substation upgrade, structural building works and hospital operations. Using a collaborative approach Nuvo were able to seamlessly integrate the new MSB with minimal disruption to building works and hospital operations.
