∞ Peninsula Private Hospital is a comprehensive acute surgical, medical, cardiac and obstetric facility located in the bayside town of Frankston in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. As a fully accredited health care facility, Peninsular Private Hospital offers the highest standard of clinical care, patient service, and technology to the community.
As the Hospital continued to grow some development works were required to expand its facilities and services to meet the demand of new patients. Nuvo Group has been a key partner to Ramsay Health in all their infrastructure and property services projects and was appointed by Adco Constructions to work on the project due to their to expertise in the healthcare sector and intimate and skilled knowledge of hospital requirements.
The $50 million redevelopment included a new emergency department complete with a purpose-built Ambulance Victoria facility, a shared central core, refurbishment of the existing hospital and a link connecting the new component with the original facility built in 1999. The addition of the new Emergency Department increases the total number of beds of the hospital to 253 and saw the opening of the first Emergency Department in this corridor of Melbourne.

∞ Due to Nuvo’s extensive experience in the design and construction of large scale hospitals, Nuvo had a high degree of involvement during the planning phase of the development. In an unorthodox move, Nuvo were directly engaged with the client, attending planning meetings to offer expert input into the design during construction. Nuvo had direct channels of communication with the client and the builder during construction and collaborated closely with Adco to ensure project goals were achieved on time and on budget.
During the initial phase of the project, Nuvo Group carried out detailed analysis, scheduling and procurement functions in conjunction with the Specialist Equipment Suppliers to ensure works complied with health requirements and existing services. As the redevelopment proceeded, Nuvo’s team carefully planned staging of works to ascertain the most effective and non-obtrusive method of delivering the works within the sensitive environment of a functional hospital.
This significant new development features 14 beds with two resuscitation bays, one infection control room and one room for minor procedures. There are also two new wards each with 30 private beds and a 24/7 pharmacy. A state-of-the-art operating room was built on to the existing complex, enabling highly technical procedures to be performed at the hospital. New parking facilities and relocated imaging and pathology services will also support the new emergency department.
The redevelopment is part of a transformative expansion for the hospital offering vital direct emergency medical services to the region. Peninsula Private continues to respond to the needs of the community and enjoy a reputation for excellence in the vibrant and growing catchment of Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and Bayside areas.
