∞ The state-of-the-art Holmesglen Private Hospital is located at the original site of the Homesglen Institute of TAFE Hemisphere Conference Centre in Moorabbin. Kingston Council first approved the site development in early 2016 and the hospital was opened in January 2017.

Having recently partnered with Healthscope on the development of the Knox Private and Frankston Private Hospitals, Nuvo Group was selected by builder Cockram to work on the $70 million dollar project. Nuvo brought with them extensive experience in working in hospital environments, having undertaken similar electrical and technology packages at many large hospitals over the past 12 years. As such, Nuvo were able to carry out the Electrical Services for this project in a compliant and collaborative manner with as little disruption to the existing TAFE as possible.

∞ Redevelopment works included the gutting and refurbishment of the original two story building and construction of a new five story tower which integrated as one to create this cutting-edge facility. The new Hospital provides an extensive range of healthcare services including 147 medical and surgical beds, state-of-the-art Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units, as well as seven integrated operating suites, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, a Day Oncology and significantly an Emergency Department. The Hospital also includes a comprehensive radiology department, pathology services, pharmacy and cafe, as well as a number of specialist consulting suites.

The project involved a high degree of consultation with consultants, builders and the end client and, as such, Nuvo were able to collaboratively address critical issues arising from changes in product

in an efficient and timely manner. Due to Nuvo’s excellent understanding of the Hospital’s requirements and their commitment to not delay the project, such obstacles did not pose any problems for the client and the Hospital was opened on schedule resulting in no loss of Hospital earnings. Nuvo developed strategies to ensure all electrical works were delivered in a manner that met project objectives in a cost-effective way and provided an outcome that will perform well into the future.

The new development forms the Holmesglen Health Precinct and the broad range of services available has reduced the need for local residents to travel outside the bayside area for anything other than the most highly specialised types of treatment.
